This entrance / exit road had been in place for many years and was showing signs of pavement fatigue. The best remedy was milling and asphalt paving.
Once a price was agreed upon with the owner, the fine men of Phaltless mobilized on site and went to work. The road was milled, broomed, and cleaned. Millings were loaded in a truck and hauled off site. Once we had all the roads cleaned of debris, tack coat was applied for adhesion. The roads were then paved with one and a half (1 1/2) inches of asphalt topping. All asphalt was machine laid and rolled to compaction.
Milling off the old layer of asphalt is a great method of road maintenance because not only does it allow you to level and smooth out an uneven roadway; it also helps the new layer of asphalt bond to the old layer of asphalt. This method helps extend the life of your pavement system.
The project went very well. The fine men of Phaltless, Inc. made sure to keep traffic flowing as best they could while working. This made everyone involved happy.
Here are some before, during, and after photos of the project.
