One of our regular commercial customers called us to look at a residential driveway that was needing some attention. The driveway was a long one, approximately 1,200' long that started out as a long straight away and then went up a hill to a concrete pad that led to the house and garage. The driveway had a good gravel base that required some prep work with a motor grader and a smooth drum vibratory roller. The Condominium Association hired Phaltless, Inc. to come back and pave more driveways when they saw the results from the driveways that we had paved previously. The management team at Chattanooga State Technical Community College had another plan for a road project  that they wanted to complete before the holidays. The job entailed utility location, milling up an existing asphalt roadway, removing topsoil, grading, soil cement, and asphalt paving. There were very stiff time constraints as to when the job could be completed because the section of road involved is a very heavily traveled one way drive behind the school. Because the area was not large, the best way to fix the issue was to dig the spoiled material out and replace it with cement treated base and asphalt topping. The area pictured was first saw cut and removed to a depth of six (6) inches.  We then filled the patch with four (4) inches of cement treated base and rolled it to compaction.
