This project entailed the grading of an existing gravel parking lot, rolling it to compaction, and then paving the parking lot with asphalt topping. The fine men from Phaltless put the existing parking lot on grade. Then, we hauled in new pug mix base stone and spread it over the existing base stone. The area was then paved with three (3) inches of asphalt topping. All asphalt was machine laid and rolled to compaction. Siskin Steel hired Phaltless, Inc. to come out and pave their parking lot in Nashville, TN. We have done many jobs for them locally here in Chattanooga so they wanted us to perform the work at their Nashville, TN facility too. The job was a mill / overlay job. There were some cracks forming due to the age of the asphalt so they wanted to be proactive and address the cracks asap. The old layer of asphalt was milled down to a depth of one (1) inch. This entrance / exit road had been in place for many years and was showing signs of pavement fatigue. The best remedy was milling and asphalt paving. Once a price was agreed upon with the owner, the fine men of Phaltless mobilized on site and went to work. The road was milled, broomed, and cleaned. Millings were loaded in a truck and hauled off site. Once we had all the roads cleaned of debris, tack coat was applied for adhesion.
